切问近思半月谈·跨学科前沿

4月26-27日晚，由复旦大学信息与传播研究中心主办的“切问近思半月谈”学术沙龙活动将围绕“数字时代的城市传播”主题举办两期讲座。两次讲座将由澳大利亚墨尔本大学公共文化研究中心教授、澳大利亚国家荣誉院士斯科特·麦夸尔（Scott McQuire）主讲，分别由中心副主任潘霁教授和中心研究员李梦颖博士主持。两次讲座主题内容如下。
第一讲：“数字时代的城市传播：技术媒介、媒介城市和地理媒介”
城市长久以来一直是催生独特传播创新的空间。麦夸尔教授在本讲将对媒介范式之转型进行批判性反思。范式转变支持城市空间在数字时代发生越来越多的媒介化。麦夸尔教授还检视了城市社会生活的重大变化如何“邂逅”数字媒介城市的涌现。通过追踪这些动态，我们将更好理解当数字媒介成为关键基础设施，城市传播面临着怎样的新机遇与挑战。
Lecture 1 Urban communication in the digital era: technological media, media cities and geomedia Cities have long been spaces for distinctive innovations in communication. In this lecture, Professor Scott McQuire provide a critical overview of the changing media paradigms that have supported the growing mediatization of urban space in the digital era. Professor Scott McQuire also consider how major changes in urban social life have intersected with the emergence of digital media cities. By tracing these developments, we will develop a better understanding of new opportunities and new challenges for urban communication as digital media have become a key urban infrastructure.
第二讲“数字时代的城市传播：智慧城市、混杂公共空间和大数据生活”
第二场讲座Scott McQuire教授将聚焦具体的案例，探讨城市数字基础设施的演变如何影响当代城市传播。讲座探讨了包括智慧城市等新的城市意象所具有的吸引力和局限性。同时，讲座还将探索艺术家和公众对城市媒介新的实验性使用。讲座核心聚焦于理解在数字城市的混杂空间中，怎样的沟通模式能维持城市市民文化--即陌生人之间的文明。
Lecture 2: Urban communication in the digital era: smart cities, hybrid public spaces and living among big data.This second lecture zooms in on specific case studies to examine how the evolution of urban digital infrastructure is impacting contemporary urban communication. We consider the attractions and limitations of new urban imaginaries such as the smart city and explore some novel and experimental uses of urban media by artists and publics. The key focus is to understand what kind of communicative models are capable of sustaining civic culture— understood as a culture of civility between strangers — in the hybrid urban spaces of the digital city?

Scott Mcquire：
澳大利亚墨尔本大学文化与传播学院媒体与传播学教授，澳大利亚国家荣誉院士。主要研究领域：新媒体与数字媒介，媒介与城市空间和网络文化。他是公共文化研究中心的创始人之一，该中心致力于数字媒体、当代艺术、城市主义和社会理论的跨学科研究。他是墨尔本网络社会协会的执行委员会成员，也是微软社会NUI中心顾问委员会的成员。2013年当选澳大利亚人文研究院院士。
Scott Mcquire is Professor of Media and Communications in the School of Cuture and Communication at the University of Melbourne, Australia. He is one of the founders of the Research Unit for Public Cultures which fosters interdisciplinary research at the nexus of digital media, contemporary art, urbanism, and social theory.
